Garden transformation, Kidbrooke
From uneven ground to usable space
This garden in Kidbrooke was an unlevel, underused space that needed proper groundwork before anything else could happen. The project began with excavation to bring the garden to a consistent level, the foundation that everything else depends on and the step most people underestimate until they see the difference it makes.
Once levelled and properly prepared, a porcelain patio was laid at the rear of the property along with a porcelain footpath running through the garden. Porcelain was specified here for its durability and low maintenance. It will not stain, does not need sealing, and holds its appearance for decades without the upkeep that natural stone requires.
A new lawn was laid across the remainder of the garden, giving the space a clean, finished look and a clear contrast to the hard landscaping. Built-in lights were installed along the footpaths, recessed into the paving at ground level, providing practical illumination in the evenings while keeping the look clean and uncluttered.
The before photos show the condition of the garden at the start of the project. The transformation is significant, not because of any single element, but because each stage was done correctly, in the right order, on a properly prepared base.
