The Finish is
Everything
Decorating is the last thing that happens on a building project — and the first thing everyone notices. A poor paint job doesn't just look bad; it tells clients that corners were cut, that the team didn't care about the detail, and that the standard throughout was probably similar. A flawless finish does the opposite.
We carry out painting and decorating as a standalone service and as the final stage of our renovation, extension, and new build projects. Either way, the standard is the same — thorough preparation, quality materials, and a finish that holds up to scrutiny in any light. We work clean, leave on time, and take pride in work that reflects well on us long after the scaffolding has come down.
Decorating
Services
Interior Painting
Full interior redecorations, single room refreshes, new build decoration, and post-renovation finishing. We work with all interior paint systems — emulsion, eggshell, satinwood, and specialist finishes — applied to the right standard for the space. Ceilings, walls, woodwork, and radiators all finished consistently and cleanly.
Exterior Painting
Exterior masonry painting, timber painting, and rendered surface decoration. We prepare external surfaces correctly — cleaning, treating, filling, and priming before any topcoat goes on — so the paint adheres properly and lasts. A fresh exterior paint job transforms a property's appearance and protects the fabric of the building from moisture ingress.
Woodwork & Joinery Painting
Skirting boards, architraves, doors, door frames, window frames, staircases, and built-in joinery — all finished in the correct paint system with the correct number of coats. Woodwork painting done badly is immediately visible; done properly it's clean, sharp, and durable. We don't rush it.
Wallpapering
Feature walls, full room papers, and specialist wallcoverings hung correctly with properly prepared walls, the right adhesive, and perfectly matched seams. We hang all types — standard vinyl, lining paper, fabric-backed, and heritage papers. Lining paper as a base before painting is also something we strongly recommend and carry out as standard where needed.
Rental Property Decoration
Efficient, hardwearing decoration for rental properties between tenancies or ahead of sale. We use durable, scrubbable paint systems suited to high-traffic spaces, work quickly to minimise void periods, and deliver a clean, fresh result that photographs well and lets at a better price. Regular and repeat work welcome.
New Build & Post-Renovation
Decorating a newly plastered or newly built space requires specific preparation — new plaster must be sealed correctly before painting, and new joinery needs the right primer system. We understand the sequence and the products involved, which means the decoration we apply over new work doesn't fail, peel, or yellow within the first year.
It's All in the
Preparation
Why Most Decorating Disappoints
Most decorating jobs that disappoint — paint peeling within a year, brush marks visible in raking light, wallpaper seams lifting after a few months — trace back to a single cause: inadequate preparation. The painting itself takes a fraction of the total job time. The preparation is where the result is won or lost.
We spend the time on preparation that most decorators don't. It's not glamorous, it's not fast, and it's not visible in the finished result — but it's the difference between work that looks good the day it's done and work that still looks good three years later.
Surface Repair & Filling
Cracks, holes, and imperfections filled, sanded, and feathered flat before any paint is applied.
Sanding & Keying
Existing painted surfaces sanded to provide a key for new coats to adhere to properly.
Priming & Sealing
New plaster, bare wood, and repaired areas primed correctly with the right product for the substrate.
Masking & Protection
Floors, furniture, and adjacent surfaces fully protected before work begins. Every day.
Correct Coats
The right number of coats for the specification — never one coat where two are needed.

What Makes Us
Different
Preparation First
We spend the time on preparation that most decorators skip. Filling, sanding, priming, and masking done properly before a brush is loaded. It's not the exciting part of the job — but it's the part that determines whether the result lasts.
Quality Materials
We use professional-grade paints and primers — not the trade equivalent of supermarket own-brand. The paint you choose matters, and so does what goes under it. We'll advise on the right products for each surface and each room.
Clean & Respectful
We mask floors and furniture properly, cover doorways when sanding, and clean up thoroughly at the end of every day. Decorating is inherently disruptive — we minimise that disruption and leave your home in better condition than we found it.
Part of a Bigger Project
When decorating follows a renovation or extension we've built, the sequence is seamless — we know what's been done to the walls and substrates, we manage the programme so decoration happens at the right time, and there's no gap between the builder and the decorator where things fall through.
Honest Advice on Colour
We're not interior designers — but after years of decorating South London homes, we've seen what works and what doesn't in the typical light conditions, room sizes, and architectural styles of this area. If you're undecided, we'll give you a straight view.
Consistent Standard
Whether we're decorating a single bedroom or an entire house, the standard doesn't change. We don't rush the last room because we're ready for the next job. Every space gets the same level of care — and we inspect our own work before you do.

Decorating FAQs
How much does it cost to decorate a house in South London?
A single room decoration — walls, ceiling, and woodwork — typically costs between £300 and £700 depending on room size, condition of existing surfaces, and level of preparation required. A full 3-bedroom house redecoration generally ranges from £2,500 to £5,000 for a thorough, professional result including all preparation. Exterior painting costs vary significantly depending on the size of the property and the amount of surface area involved. We'll give you an accurate, itemised quote after visiting.
How long does decorating take?
A single room typically takes 1 to 3 days including preparation, priming, and two finish coats. A full house redecoration takes 1 to 3 weeks depending on the number of rooms, the condition of the surfaces, and whether any wallpapering or specialist finishes are involved. We'll give you a clear programme before we start so you can plan around the work.
Can you paint newly plastered walls?
Yes — but only once the plaster has fully dried, which typically takes 4 to 6 weeks for a full plaster coat. New plaster must also be sealed with a mist coat (heavily diluted emulsion) before full-strength paint is applied — painting directly with full-strength emulsion over new plaster causes it to flake. We understand this process and manage the timing correctly as part of renovation and new build projects.
Do you supply the paint or do I buy it myself?
Both work. Most clients prefer us to supply materials — we include paint and primers in the quote at trade prices, and we take responsibility for having the right products on site at the right time. If you have a specific paint brand or colour you want used, we're happy to work with client-supplied materials. We'll advise if anything you've chosen isn't suitable for the surface it's going onto.
Can I stay at home while you're decorating?
Yes — most of our decorating clients are at home throughout. We work room by room where possible to minimise disruption, keep dust contained, and ensure you always have usable living space. We mask and protect everything before work starts each day and clean up thoroughly before we leave. For exterior work, there's no disruption to living inside the property at all.
Do you do commercial decorating as well as residential?
Yes. We carry out decorating in offices, retail spaces, and commercial premises across South London — often working evenings or weekends to avoid disrupting the business. Commercial spaces typically require more durable paint systems and faster turnaround times than residential work, both of which we're experienced in delivering.
